The Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges organized a training and study tour program in the UK & USA under the 3rd Karnaphuli Bridge project. The Duke University of the USA and London Corporate Training, UK were given the responsibility of organizing this program. A total of 08 (eight) participants attended the program held from 30 December 2017 to 11 January 2018.
The training mainly covered recent developments in highway pavement design & bridge construction; sustainable infrastructure development; appropriate highway structure & bridges for the country (Bangladesh context); on-site demonstration of highway & bridge maintenance; management & quality control; traffic management & off-street parking design & operation; and experience in the design, construction and installation of modular steel bridges and pontoons.
