DGFP Strengthens Clinical, Maternal Health, and Supply Chain Expertise Across Three Continents

The Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP) adopts a comprehensive approach to public health, encompassing clinical services, maternal care, and robust logistics. To enhance these distinct yet interconnected areas, officials from various DGFP units participated in specialized international training programs across Africa and Asia. Management and Training International (MTI) Ltd. was entrusted with the seamless organization of these critical capacity-building missions.

Under the Clinical Control Services Delivery Program (CCSDP), a delegation traveled to Kenya from July 16-23, 2018, for "Training on Latest Technology Related to LARC & PM." The program focused on advanced clinical procedures like Tubectomy with a Tubal Hook, providing hands-on knowledge to improve the safety and efficacy of permanent family planning methods in Bangladesh.

For the Maternal, Child, Reproductive and Adolescent Health (MCRAH) unit, a vital "Training on Management of Low Birth Weight and Prematurity" was held in Malaysia from August 5-11, 2018. Officials learned from Malaysia's advanced neonatal care systems, gaining crucial skills to improve survival rates and health outcomes for vulnerable newborns.

Recognizing that service delivery depends on a flawless supply chain, the Logistic & Supply Unit attended "Training on Effective Procurement and Supply Chain Management" in Vietnam from May 18-24, 2018. This program provided insights into modern logistics, inventory control, and procurement strategies to ensure the uninterrupted availability of essential medical supplies and contraceptives.

By coordinating these diverse training initiatives, MTI Ltd. helped fortify DGFP's operational capabilities on multiple fronts. This holistic investment in human resources is essential for building a resilient and effective public health system that serves the needs of all Bangladeshis.
