DGFP Enhances Strategic Planning and Development Skills in Indonesia & Vietnam

Effective planning and development are foundational to the success of national family planning initiatives. To strengthen these core competencies, the Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP) embarked on two strategic international training programs in Indonesia and Vietnam, countries renowned for their successful public health and family planning models. Management and Training International (MTI) Ltd. was privileged to organize and manage these immersive learning experiences for DGFP officials.

The first "Training on Planning and Development" was held in Indonesia from July 23-28, 2018. This program allowed the Bangladeshi delegation to study Indonesia's comprehensive approach to population management, focusing on policy implementation, monitoring frameworks, and community-level engagement strategies that have achieved remarkable results.

A parallel training program was conducted in Vietnam from June 21-26, 2018. Here, the focus was on understanding Vietnam's innovative service delivery mechanisms and its success in integrating family planning services into the broader primary healthcare system. The participants gained firsthand knowledge of practical tools and methodologies for effective program design and execution.

By facilitating these high-impact study tours, MTI Ltd. contributed to building the capacity of DGFP officials, equipping them with advanced skills and a global perspective. The insights gained from Indonesia and Vietnam are invaluable for refining and strengthening Bangladesh's own family planning strategies and ensuring better health outcomes for its population.
