DGHS Strengthens Health Information Systems & Medical Biotechnology Expertise in South Korea and Malaysia

In the 21st century, modern healthcare relies on two key pillars: robust data management and cutting-edge medical technology. To advance in both these domains, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), particularly its Management Information System (MIS) unit, undertook two strategic international training programs. Management and Training International (MTI) Ltd. was honored to facilitate these initiatives, designed to bring global best practices to Bangladesh's health sector.

A delegation of officials traveled to South Korea, a world leader in information technology, for a comprehensive "Training on Health Information System (HIS)" from February 6-15, 2018. The program provided a deep dive into the architecture and implementation of integrated digital health systems, including electronic health records, data analytics for public health, and telemedicine. The insights gained are pivotal for strengthening the MIS of DGHS and improving data-driven decision-making.

Complementing the focus on data, another team attended a "Training on Medical Biotechnology" in Malaysia from February 20 to March 01, 2018. This course explored the latest advancements in biotechnology and their applications in diagnostics, disease prevention, and treatment. Learning from Malaysia's rapidly growing biotech sector, the participants acquired valuable knowledge to help modernize Bangladesh's medical research and clinical capabilities.

These two distinct but synergistic training programs, flawlessly executed by MTI Ltd., represent a significant investment in the future of Bangladesh's health sector. By enhancing expertise in both health informatics and medical technology, DGHS is better positioned to build a more efficient, responsive, and technologically advanced healthcare system for its citizens.
