HED Explores Modern Hospital Infrastructure Strategies in Indonesia, Singapore & Thailand

To keep pace with the evolving demands of modern healthcare, the Health Engineering Department (HED) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare continuously seeks to enhance its strategic and technical expertise. In this pursuit, HED officials engaged in a series of targeted international programs across Asia. Management and Training International (MTI) Ltd. proudly managed these initiatives, which were designed to explore innovative approaches to hospital facilities management, modernization, and financing.

The learning journey began in Indonesia with a "Training on Strategy of Facilities Upgrade" from December 18-29, 2017. This program provided officials with a strategic framework for upgrading existing healthcare facilities to meet contemporary standards of care and efficiency.

Building on this, a delegation participated in a "Study Tour on Balancing Modernizing, Rehabilitation and Expansion of Hospital" in Thailand from March 30 to April 07, 2018. This tour offered practical insights into how to make critical decisions about whether to modernize, rehabilitate, or expand hospital infrastructure, based on Thailand's successful healthcare model.

Finally, to explore innovative financing and management models, a team attended a "Training on Public Private Partnership (PPP)" in Singapore from June 30 to July 06, 2018. This training equipped participants with the knowledge to leverage private sector collaboration for developing and managing world-class healthcare facilities, drawing from Singapore's globally recognized PPP frameworks.

These interconnected programs, expertly managed by MTI Ltd., provided a comprehensive learning experience for HED officials. The knowledge gained from these leading Asian nations is vital for shaping the future of healthcare infrastructure in Bangladesh, ensuring it is modern, sustainable, and capable of meeting the nation's needs.
