ICT Division Studies Philippines' World-Class BPO Sector

To accelerate the growth of Bangladesh's own Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry, it is crucial to learn from the world's best. With this objective, the Information and Communication Technology Division (ICTD) engaged in a targeted study tour to the Philippines, a global powerhouse in the BPO sector. Management and Training International (MTI) Ltd. was proud to manage this important initiative.

From June 1-8, 2016, a delegation of 12 officials participated in an immersive program designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem that has propelled the Philippines to the forefront of the global BPO market. The tour focused on the policies, infrastructure, and public-private partnerships that have been instrumental to its success.

The participants explored various facets of the industry, from talent development and training programs to the regulatory frameworks that attract foreign investment. The visit provided invaluable, firsthand insights into the operational dynamics of large-scale BPO centers and the strategies used to maintain a competitive edge in the global market.

This focused study tour, expertly managed by MTI, equipped the ICTD officials with practical knowledge and strategic perspectives. The lessons learned are directly applicable to strengthening Bangladesh's BPO sector, fostering job creation for the nation's youth, and advancing the overarching goal of a 'Digital Bangladesh'.
