Strengthening Government through Capacity Development of the BCS Cadre Officials Project (Training on Negotiation Skills)

Reinforcing the Government of Bangladesh's commitment to human resource development, Management and Training International (MTI) Ltd. has been a pivotal partner to the Ministry of Public Administration (MOPA) since 2011. In a significant initiative under the 'Strengthening Government through Capacity Development of the BCS Cadre Officials’ Project, MTI organized and managed a specialized 15-day overseas training program on ‘Negotiation Skills’ for the Additional Secretaries of the Government of Bangladesh.

The prestigious training was held from June 3 to 17, 2015, at the Duke Center for International Development (DCID), Sanford School of Public Policy, Duke University, North Carolina, USA. A total of 45 high-ranking officials participated in this immersive program, which was meticulously designed to enhance their negotiation capabilities in both national and international arenas.

The curriculum was a dynamic blend of academic lectures, interactive group work, simulation exercises, and screenings of relevant development documentaries. The program also included insightful visits to various government offices, providing the participants with firsthand experience of public administration in the United States. To ensure a holistic and enriching experience, the itinerary was complemented by sightseeing tours to culturally significant locations, including UNESCO-declared world heritage sites.

MTI Ltd.'s seamless management, in collaboration with DCID, ensured that the program not only met its academic objectives but also provided a platform for invaluable knowledge exchange and professional networking. This initiative stands as a testament to MTI's expertise in executing high-level international training programs that contribute directly to the capacity building of the nation's top civil servants.
