Training on Public Procurement Management

In a concerted effort to enhance transparency and efficiency in public service delivery, Management and Training International (MTI) Ltd., in partnership with the Ministry of Public Administration (MoPA), executed a pivotal overseas training program focused on Public Procurement Management. This initiative was a key component of the ‘Strengthening Government through Capacity Development of the BCS Cadre Officials’ Project.

During 2014-15, MTI was entrusted with managing this specialized 15-day training for 100 high-ranking Joint Secretaries and equivalent officers of the Government of Bangladesh. The program was conducted in three successive batches at the prestigious International Training Centre of the ILO (ITC-ILO) in Turin, Italy, a global hub for professional development.

The core objective of the training was to equip senior government officials with advanced knowledge and skills in modern procurement practices, ultimately enabling better management of public resources and improving service delivery to the citizens of Bangladesh. As a result of this immersive program, the readiness, knowledge, and skills of the participating officers in procurement management were significantly enhanced.

The collaboration between MTI and ITC-ILO was seamless and highly effective. The success of the program was recognized by our international partners, who commended the synergy between all stakeholders.

The International Training Centre of the ILO (ITC-ILO) had the privilege to co-organize with MTI training programs for 100 high-ranking government officials in three batches. As a result of the project office’s readiness and interactivity, enthusiastic cooperation from participants, promised and heartfelt availability of MTI and the invaluable presence of Ms. Ismat Ara Sadique, Hon’ble State Minister, the training programs were dynamic and fruitful.

The dynamic management and efficient coordination by MTI were highly appreciated by the ITC-ILO team, particularly by Program Coordination Manager Ralf Krüger and Program Assistant Yuliya Dzhulyk of the Sustainable Development Programme. This successful project reinforces MTI's position as a trusted partner in executing high-impact international capacity-building initiatives for the Government of Bangladesh.
