Capacity Building for National Academy of Social Services in Southeast Asia

Under ‘The Capacity and Skill Development of National Academy of Social Services’ project, Management and Training International (MTI) Ltd. managed and implemented an extensive series of international training programs. This large-scale initiative was designed to enhance the expertise of officials who are responsible for training the nation's social service professionals.

During the 2018-19 fiscal year, a total of 51 officials participated in four separate batches, traveling to Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Thailand. The overarching theme of the training was to study the ‘Integrated Life Cycle Based Social Security Activities’ in these countries, providing a comparative perspective on how different nations approach social welfare from childhood to old age.

The first batch, comprising 16 participants, attended a program on ‘Training on Capacity Building and Skill Development’ in Jakarta, Indonesia, from August 7-16, 2018. Hosted at the IPDC training institute, the program featured intensive classroom discussions and interactive sessions designed to build skills and broaden perspectives on modern social service delivery.

This comprehensive, multi-country program provided a crucial platform for knowledge exchange, enabling officials from the National Academy of Social Services to learn from regional best practices. The insights gained are instrumental in modernizing the training curriculum and enhancing the capacity of social service providers across Bangladesh.
