NASS Officials Conclude Regional Tour with Study of Thailand's Social Safety Net
The extensive international training program under ‘The Capacity and Skill Development of National Academy of Social Services’ project culminated with a final, focused learning visit to Thailand. Management and Training International (MTI) Ltd. was proud to manage this concluding chapter of the four-country initiative.
From November 10-14, 2018, the fourth and final batch, a high-level team of five officials including the Director General of Social Services, attended the ‘Learning Visit to Thailand’s Social Safety Net.’ The program, facilitated in partnership with AZ Technology in Bangkok, was designed to provide practical insights into Thailand’s integrated social welfare systems.
A key component of the tour was a visit to the One Stop Crisis Centre (OSCC), where the delegation held in-depth discussions with officials. The OSCC model provides a single, coordinated point of service for individuals and families in crisis, and the visit offered a valuable look at best practices in integrated service delivery for vulnerable populations.
The program also included extensive experience-sharing and discussion sessions, allowing for a deep dive into the policies and operational strategies that underpin Thailand's social safety net. This final visit successfully completed the comprehensive learning journey for the National Academy of Social Services, ensuring its key personnel are equipped with a wide range of regional perspectives to enhance social service training and delivery in Bangladesh.
