Elevating Bangladesh's Sporting Future: MTI Facilitates Ministry of Youth & Sports Study Tours to Global Powerhouses
Building a world-class sporting nation requires learning from the best. In its mission to develop and control sports in Bangladesh, the National Sports Council (NSC), under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, embarked on two strategic international study tours managed by MTI Ltd. These visits to South America and China were designed to gather top-tier knowledge in both sports governance and infrastructure development.
Learning from the Masters of Football in South America
To gain insights into elite sports management, a six-member delegation led by Mr. Md. Asadul Islam, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, visited the football capitals of Brazil and Argentina. This tour supported several key initiatives, including the ‘Sports Quality Improvement of BKSP’s Female Trainees’ project. The officials held high-level discussions at the headquarters of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and the Argentine Football Association (AFA). These meetings provided a deep understanding of the administrative, technical, and commercial structures that have made these nations perennial football giants.
Studying World-Class Sports Infrastructure in China
To support the ‘Up-gradation of existing facilities of Kabadi and Volleyball Stadium at Paltan, Dhaka’ project, the NSC designed a visit to China to study its state-of-the-art sports facilities. A six-member team toured premier venues across Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing. The delegation studied the architecture, management, and multi-purpose use of iconic locations such as the Beijing National Stadium (Bird's Nest) and the National Sports Training Centre (NSTC), a hub for elite athlete development. This exposure provided a practical blueprint for modernizing Bangladesh's own sporting arenas.
By combining insights from South America's legendary sports governance with China's cutting-edge infrastructure, these MTI-managed tours provided a holistic and invaluable learning experience. The knowledge gained will directly contribute to the strategic development of sports facilities and programs in Bangladesh, helping to nurture the next generation of athletes and build a stronger sporting future for the nation.
