Study Tour on Government Project Approval & Monitoring Procedure in the USA

Under the ‘Capacity Enhancement of NEC-ECNEC & Coordination Wing by Introducing Digital Data Base and Archive System’ project, a strategic study tour was organized to the United States to benchmark against global best practices. Management and Training International (MTI) Ltd. managed this high-level program, which focused on government project approval and monitoring procedures.

From March 8-17, 2018, a team of five senior officials participated in this immersive experience. The tour was designed to provide insights into both the procedural and technological aspects of modern public administration.

A key visit was to the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) in Washington, D.C. At this prestigious, independent institution, the delegation engaged with experts on the frameworks and methodologies the U.S. government employs for approving, overseeing, and ensuring accountability in public projects. These sessions provided a valuable policy-level perspective for the officials.

Complementing the policy discussions, the team also visited the University of Maryland. Here, the focus shifted to the technological backbone of modern governance. The delegates held discussions with university officials and experts about state-of-the-art Digital Database and Archive Systems, gaining practical knowledge on the implementation and management of such systems, which is a core objective of their project in Bangladesh.

This dual-faceted study tour, seamlessly managed by MTI Ltd., equipped the high-level team with a comprehensive understanding of both the 'what' and the 'how' of advanced project management and digital governance, providing actionable insights to apply back home.
