Training on Project Preparation, Processing, Monitoring & Evaluation in Brazil

To further strengthen the capacity of its key officials, the Planning Division of the Ministry of Planning engaged in a specialized international training program focused on the complete project management lifecycle. Management and Training International (MTI) Ltd. managed and coordinated this immersive program in collaboration with the prestigious SGS Academy in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

From July 2-11, 2017, a team of six participants from the NEC-ECNEC & Coordination Wing attended the training in Brazil. The program was meticulously designed to enhance skills in project preparation, processing, monitoring, and evaluation, which are critical for effective national development planning.

The curriculum delved into essential project management tools and methodologies. Participants gained in-depth knowledge on the Logical Framework Approach, the design of robust Monitoring and Evaluation plans, and the art of crafting effective project proposals. Academic sessions and case studies provided a strong theoretical foundation for planning and executing comprehensive evaluations.

To ensure a practical and holistic learning experience, the program incorporated extensive office and field visits across Brazil, including to Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Manaus. These visits allowed the delegation to observe best practices in action, share country-specific experiences with their Brazilian counterparts, and gather innovative ideas to replicate within Bangladesh's project management framework.

This successful collaboration between MTI and SGS Academy equipped the participants with valuable new perspectives and practical skills, directly contributing to the Ministry of Planning's goal of enhancing efficiency and accountability in the implementation of development projects.
