Deepening Insights: MTI Facilitates NTRCA's Second Study Tour to India's Educational Hubs

Building on the success of its initial visit, the Non-Government Teacher’s Registration & Certification Authority (NTRCA) continued its mission to enhance teacher quality in Bangladesh with a second strategic study tour. MTI Ltd. was proud to manage this follow-up program, taking a seven-member delegation to the key educational hubs of Mumbai and Ahmedabad in India.

Exploring Recruitment and Governance Systems

The core focus of the visit was to gain a practical understanding of India's robust systems for teacher recruitment and educational governance. A pivotal meeting was held at the Gujarat Secondary Education Recruitment Board, where the delegation shared experiences with their Indian counterparts. This direct interaction provided invaluable insights into the procedures, challenges, and successes of a large-scale teacher recruitment authority.

Observing Excellence in Teacher Training and College Management

To see the end-to-end process, the participants visited several leading institutions. At the Bombay Teachers’ Training College, they met with Dr. Mintu Sinha to discuss modern pedagogical approaches and curriculum development. Visits to the Pune School, Bhavan's College, and other private colleges allowed the team to hold in-depth meetings with managing committees, observing firsthand how recruitment policies translate into effective school administration.

Across both MTI-managed study tours, engaging with the managing committees of diverse institutions—such as Ashutosh College in Kolkata from the first tour—was a key activity for understanding governance structures.

This comprehensive exposure visit, combined with cultural immersion at sites like the Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalaya at Sabarmati Ashram, provided the NTRCA delegation with a rich, multi-faceted learning experience. The practical knowledge gained on administration, recruitment, and policy will directly aid in strengthening the framework for non-government teacher certification and school management in Bangladesh.
