Bangladesh Delegation Studies Indonesia’s Innovative Urban Healthcare Models
A ten-member delegation from Bangladesh's Urban Primary Health Care Services Delivery Project-II (UPHCSDP-II) has successfully concluded a seven-day knowledge-sharing program in Indonesia. Held from September 21-27, 2025, the training was organized by the Indonesia Profesional Development Center (IPDC) in association with MTI Ltd. to explore best practices in urban primary healthcare.
The intensive program was designed to provide Bangladeshi officials with deep insights into Indonesia's strategies for managing urban health, particularly its integrated community health centers (Puskesmas) and its cutting-edge digital health ecosystem. The delegation engaged in high-level discussions at Indonesia's Ministry of Health and its Digital Transformation Office, focusing on topics like health insurance, digital service integration, and the national health platform, "SatuSehat."

A key component of the training involved immersive field visits to local health facilities, including the Puskesmas in Tanjung Priok and Tebet. These visits offered a firsthand look at how Indonesia integrates private clinics, pharmacies, and NGOs into its primary care framework and delivers a comprehensive service package to a dense urban population. These practical sessions allowed for direct interaction and experience sharing with Indonesian healthcare professionals.

This capacity-building initiative has equipped the UPHCSDP-II officials with essential tools and innovative models to drive development projects in Bangladesh. The successful program, culminating in a certificate ceremony, strengthens the foundation for advancing Bangladesh's urban health services in line with national goals.
