Navigating the Future: AI-Powered Career Expo 2025 at RUET

In a landmark initiative to bridge the gap between skilled youth and the evolving tech industry, the BDSET Project, under the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA), launched the "Job Fair and Seminar 2025." This nationwide campaign, aimed at connecting 100,000 career opportunities, commenced its inaugural chapter at the Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) on December 10, 2025.

A Convergence of Industry and Academia

The event, titled "AI-Powered Employment Opportunities – Career Expo 2025," brought together government dignitaries, academic leaders, and top-tier employers. Management and Training International Ltd. (MTI Ltd.) participated as a key employer, offering direct pathways for graduates to enter the professional IT sector.

Keynote: Vision for a Smart Bangladesh

In his keynote address, Shish Haider Chowdhury, ndc, Secretary of the Information and Communication Division, emphasized the critical role of immersive technologies. He highlighted the government's vision to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Machine Learning (ML) into the national development fabric. He assured graduates that the BDSET project is actively creating an ecosystem where these skills translate directly into high-value employment.

Seminar: Changing Job Opportunities in the Age of AI

A pivotal session of the expo was the technical seminar conducted by Md. Rokonuzzaman, PhD, Faculty Member at North South University and Senior Fellow, PRI. His presentation, titled "Changing Job Opportunities in the Age of AI and Robotics," offered a profound look into the shifts caused by automation.

Dr. Rokonuzzaman explained that the traditional strategy of "Labor-intensive technology import" is no longer sufficient. He highlighted that despite productivity improvements, the manufacturing sector has seen significant job losses—approximately 1.4 million jobs over a decade. The key takeaway was not to fear technology, but to leverage AI and Robotics to increase product and process maturity.

MTI Ltd.: Pioneering GovTech Solutions & Training

Mr. Raihan Khan, IT Manager at MTI Ltd., took the stage to showcase how MTI is actively shaping the technological landscape of Bangladesh. His speech elaborated on MTI's dual role as a software developer and a premier training provider.

He proudly detailed MTI's collaboration with the ICT Ministry and highlighted two flagship software projects developed entirely in-house by MTI engineers:

Beyond software, Mr. Khan emphasized MTI's commitment to advanced capacity building. He shared that MTI successfully conducted high-level Training of Trainers (ToT) programs for 30 selected BDSET instructors. These trainings, held at the prestigious IIT Kharagpur and IIT Guwahati in India, focused on cutting-edge fields such as AI, Machine Learning, XR, VR, MR, and Immersive Technology.
